There are (41) prizes available to be won as follows: One (1) Grand Prize of $750 worth of Parkland Gas Cards and Forty (40) Bonus Prizes of $75 Parkland Gas Cards. The winners are required to correctly answer a time-limited skill testing question. Open to legal residents of British Columbia, who are of the age of majority in British Columbia at time of entry. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received before the contest closes. The contest is limited to one entry per household and one prize per entry.

The winner will be selected on February 14, 2022, in Burnaby, British Columbia. Entrant information may be used for promotional or fundraising purposes.

FULL RULES AND ENTRY DETAILS

NO PURCHASE OR DONATION IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR DONATION WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. ALL RULES OF THE CANADIAN COMPETITION BUREAU APPLY.

Agreement to Official Rules. Participation in the Contest constitutes entrants full and unconditional agreement to the acceptance of these Official Rules and fulfilling any and all other requirements set forth within. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. Void where prohibited by law. The decisions of Burnaby Hospital Foundation with respect to all aspects of this Contest are final and binding on all entrants without right of appeal.

Contest Period. . Contest begins on January 25, 2022, at 12:01 a.m. PST and ends on February 13, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. PST.

Eligibility and Limitations. Participants and winner must be legal residents of British Columbia, who are age of majority in British Columbia at time of entry. Limit of one entry and one prize per household for the contest. Employees of Burnaby Hospital Foundation, the contest’s participating sponsors and their advertising agencies, and members of the immediate family of any such persons are not eligible to participate and win. The term “immediate family” includes spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren, whether as “in-laws,” or by current or past marriage(s), remarriage(s), adoption, co-habitation or other family extension, and any other persons residing at the same household whether or not related.

 

Entries. Only entries submitted at the website designated by Burnaby Hospital Foundation or received at the Burnaby Hospital Foundation office using the online or hard copy entry forms provided by Burnaby Hospital Foundation may be used to enter the contest. Winners will be selected at random from all eligible entries received. All blanks must be filled in accurately or entry may be considered ineligible.

 

Prize. The prize that may be awarded to the eligible winner is not transferable, redeemable for cash or exchangeable for any other prize. Participants must provide valid and accurate contact information. If a winner cannot be contacted or is disqualified for any reason, Burnaby Hospital Foundation reserves the right to determine an alternate winner or not to award that winner’s prize, in its sole discretion.

Verification. All Entries are subject to verification at any time and for any reason. Burnaby Hospital Foundation reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to require proof of identity and/or eligibility (in a form acceptable to Burnaby Hospital Foundation – including, without limitation, government issued photo identification): (i) for the purposes of verifying an individual’s eligibility to participate in this Contest; (ii) for the purposes of verifying the eligibility and/or legitimacy of any Entry entered (or purportedly entered) for the purposes of this Contest; and/or (iii) for any other reason Burnaby Hospital Foundation deems necessary, in its sole and absolute discretion, for the purposes of administering this Contest in accordance with these Rules. Failure to provide such proof to the satisfaction of Burnaby Hospital Foundation in a timely manner may result in disqualification in the sole and absolute discretion of Burnaby Hospital Foundation.

Publicity; Use of Personal Information. By participating, where allowed by law, all participants and winners grant Burnaby Hospital Foundation exclusive permission to use their names, in connection with promotion of this and other contests and waive any claims to royalty, right, or remuneration for such use. By participating in the contest, where allowed by law, participants agree that Burnaby Hospital Foundation may disclose personal information obtained from participants in the contest and use such information for marketing, fundraising and other purposes. 

Disqualification; Fraud. Failure to comply with any published contest rules is grounds for immediate disqualification from the contest. Burnaby Hospital Foundation reserves the right to disqualify any entry not conforming to the rules of the promotion at any time. Burnaby Hospital Foundation and its contest and promotional partners assume no responsibility for entry fraud committed by any entrant. In the event it is determined that an ineligible entrant wins a prize, Burnaby Hospital Foundation reserves all rights to the ownership and return of the prize and all costs associated with remedying any prize award to an ineligible entry or entrant.

Contest Suspension. Burnaby Hospital Foundation reserves the right to cancel, suspend, withdraw or amend this Contest in any way, without prior notice or obligation, in the event of an error, technical problem, computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Burnaby Hospital Foundation that interferes with the proper conduct of this Contest as contemplated by these Contest Rules. Any attempt to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Burnaby Hospital Foundation reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.

Misinformation. Burnaby Hospital Foundation is not responsible for undeliverable, lost, delayed, misdirected or misaddressed mail or any other issues regarding the manual or electronic delivery of the contest form. This includes, but is not limited to, the speed at which Canada Post routes mail. The sole determiner of eligibility for the final drawing will be the time the entry form is received at our offices.

Conduct and Decisions. By participating in the contest, participants agree to be bound by the decisions of Burnaby Hospital Foundation personnel. Persons who violate any rule, gain unfair advantage in participating in the contest, or obtain winner status using fraudulent means will be disqualified. Unsportsmanlike, disruptive, annoying, harassing or threatening behavior is prohibited. Burnaby Hospital Foundation will interpret these rules and resolve any disputes, conflicting claims or ambiguities concerning the rules or the contest and Burnaby Hospital Foundation’s decisions concerning such disputes shall be final. If the conduct or outcome of the contest is affected by human error, any mechanical malfunctions or failures of any kind, intentional interference or any event beyond the control of Burnaby Hospital Foundation, Burnaby Hospital Foundation reserves the right to terminate this contest or make such other decisions regarding the outcome as Burnaby Hospital Foundation deems appropriate. All decisions will be made by Burnaby Hospital Foundation and are final. Burnaby Hospital Foundation may waive any of these rules in its sole discretion. Any attempt by an entrant or any other individual to deliberately circumvent, disrupt, damage or undermine the legitimate operation of this contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, Burnaby Hospital Foundation reserve the right to seek civil and/or criminal prosecution and/or damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.

 

General. Any attempt or suspected attempt to use robotic, automatic, programmed, or otherwise, illicit means to enter the Contest, or any other methods not authorized by these Contest Rules shall be deemed as tampering and may disqualify you from entering, participating, winning prizes (defined herein), and preclude you from participating in future contests and promotions, at the sole discretion of Burnaby Hospital Foundation. Entries that are late, lost, stolen, illegible, contain false information, are damaged, misdirected, mutilated, garbled or incomplete, altered or otherwise irregular or that do not conform with or satisfy any or all of the conditions these rules will be judged void. All Entries become the property of Burnaby Hospital Foundation upon receipt. Proof of transmission (screenshots or captures, etc.) does not constitute proof of receipt.

 

Liability. Without limitation, Burnaby Hospital Foundation, its advertising and promotion agencies and the Prize Sponsor will not be liable for any failure of the website during the Contest; for an technical malfunction or other problems relating to the telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment or software; for the failure of any Entry to be received by Burnaby Hospital Foundation for any reason including, but not limited to, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website; or any combination of the above. Further, the Burnaby Hospital Foundation, its advertising and promotion agencies and the prize Sponsors will not be liable for any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading any material in the Contest.

 

Release. By participating in the contest, each participant and winner waives any and all claims of liability against Burnaby Hospital Foundation, its employees and agents, the contest’s sponsors and their respective employees and agents, for any personal injury or loss which may occur from the conduct of, or participation in, the contest, or from the use of any prize. In order to receive a prize, participants must sign an official waiver form provided by Burnaby Hospital Foundation.

 

Miscellaneous. Void where prohibited. Odds of winning depend upon the number of participants. Each winner must submit proof of eligibility and sign Burnaby Hospital Foundation’s release form to claim the prize.  Burnaby Hospital Foundation disclaims any responsibility to notify participants of any aspect related to the conduct of the contest. All entries become the property of Burnaby Hospital Foundation and will not be returned. 

 

Compliance with Law.  The conduct of the contest is governed by the applicable laws of Canada and British Columbia, which take precedence over any rule to the contrary herein. Burnaby Hospital Foundation shall follow the applicable laws for conducting contests, including providing specific written information about the contest, etc. as required by the Competition Bureau of Canada.
