Metropolis at Metrotown: Illuminating Community Health

Not far from Burnaby Hospital lies the province’s largest shopping center, Metropolis at Metrotown. For seven years and counting, Metropolis at Metrotown (MET) has been a committed community partner to Burnaby Hospital Foundation by actively contributing to fundraising projects that directly impact the well-being of the community. 

“Supporting Burnaby Hospital means MET is contributing to the happiness of what medical care brings to the community,” notes a MET representative. MET’s notable contributions include support for the hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic and support for the Bright Future redevelopment campaign to transform Burnaby Hospital. 

In 2023, they introduced the Summer at the Met initiative, converting the mall into a vibrant summer destination, offering art installations, workshops, and special sales— with proceeds supporting Burnaby Hospital. Thanks to our community and MET’s philanthropic initiative, the series of activations raised an incredible $2,500.
