In Memory of Terry Ohashi
We are celebrating the incredible life of Terry Ohashi – a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of everyone he met.
Terry found joy in the simplest things in life – like sharing a cup of coffee with his son after work, being the font of information for his daughter, watching British crime dramas with his wife, and creating extravagant homemade pinatas for his grandchildren’s birthday parties. These little moments were what mattered most to him, and they will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who loved him.
Terry was always a reassuring presence in his children’s lives, and the love of Linda’s life. His attention to detail was unparalleled, and he had a way of making those around him feel heard and understood. Terry also had a unique habit of documenting absolutely everything – leaving a literal paper trail of memories, stories, and lessons for those who would come after him.
In 2019, Terry was diagnosed with metastatic cancer, but he faced this challenge with unshakable determination, insisting that life would continue to be filled with joy and purpose. Throughout his journey, he received extraordinary care from Dr. David Telio and the entire team at Burnaby Hospital’s Oncology Unit. Your donations made here will directly support the Oncology Unit at Burnaby Hospital and the marvelous, compassionate work they continue to do for families like ours. In honour of Terry’s memory, a small tranquility butterfly with Terry’s name on it will later be placed in the Tranquility Garden outside of the Palliative Care Unit at Burnaby General Hospital for all to remember him.
