RBC Foundation Supports New Canadians with Generous $75k Donation

September 23, 2024

Burnaby Hospital Foundation is thrilled to recognize RBC Foundation for their donation of $75,000 in support of the Burnaby New Canadian Clinic. This generous contribution plays a vital role in ensuring that new Canadians in Burnaby and the surrounding areas have access to essential medical and social supports, empowering them to thrive in their new community.

On August 28th, a team from RBC, including Chloe Ellis, Group Consultant, Group Solutions; Carmen Ryujin, Manager of Community Investment, BC Region; and Kevin Ebert, Senior Manager of the Commercial NFP Team and Peter Choi, Vice-President, Commercial Healthcare, visited the Clinic to meet the staff and present the cheque to Burnaby Hospital Foundation’s VP, Development, Danielle Sleiman. This event highlighted the strong partnership between our organizations and the shared commitment to enhancing community health.

The Burnaby New Canadian Clinic serves as a crucial resource for newcomers who often face language and cultural barriers. By providing primary healthcare and essential support services, the Clinic addresses the unique needs of vulnerable immigrants and refugees, helping them navigate the complexities of the healthcare system and access vital social supports as they adjust to life in Canada.

The generous support from RBC Foundation will help enhance resources and navigation services, benefiting the well-being of many new Canadians. We are deeply grateful for RBC Foundation’s dedication to community care and their impactful contributions. Through their ongoing support, they are fostering a healthier and more inclusive future for everyone in our community. Together, we are striving for a brighter future for Burnaby and beyond. Thank you, RBC Foundation!
