YOUR DONATION WILL HELP IMPROVE CARE FOR PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES

New Canadian Clinic

Burnaby New Canadian & Global Family Care Clinic provides primary care to vulnerable newcomers and refugees in Burnaby, New Westminster and Tri-Cities. Most of the patients come from conflict-stricken countries all over the globe including Syria, Iran, Iraq and Eritrea. The multidisciplinary team consists of Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, Social Work and Administrative support, who work together to create a safe space for holistic care.

Together, they see over 5,000 visits annually. These visits cover a wide range of our patient’s primary care needs, from maternity/newborn care to chronic disease management, and many of the patient’s day-to-day healthcare needs between. Each interaction provides a valuable opportunity for health promotion, education, and to foster independence for newcomer families.

The clinic works in partnership with various community organizations to ensure newcomers have access to the supports as they adjust to the many changes along their journey. They encourage their patients as they build capacity and learn to navigate life for their first few years in Canada. Learn more here.

Burnaby Hospital Foundation is proud to support fundraising for the New Canadian Clinic.
