BURNABY – Burnaby Hospital Foundation has received a substantial $47,570 donation from the Mr. and Mrs. P.A. Woodward’s Foundation to purchase a new HD Video Processor Tower for Burnaby Hospital’s busy Surgical Cystoscopy Program.

“On behalf of Burnaby Hospital Foundation, the hospital, and the patients ultimately benefiting from this gift, we are so thankful to the Mr. and Mrs. P.A. Woodward’s Foundation for their generosity,” says Cheryl Carline, President & CEO of Burnaby Hospital Foundation. “A new HD Video Processor Tower enhances our surgeons’ abilities to provide better diagnostic care. The number of cystoscopies being performed at Burnaby Hospital is growing, and this advanced technology will benefit thousands of patients a year”.

“The Mr. and Mrs. P.A. Woodward’s Foundation is pleased to contribute to patient and surgical care at Burnaby Hospital,” says Jackie Lee-Son, Executive Director of the Mr. and Mrs. P.A. Woodward’s Foundation. “Through gifts such as this, the Foundation will continue to make a difference to the health care of communities across British Columbia”.

The Mr. and Mrs. P.A. Woodward’s Foundation was established in 1951 when Puggy Woodward, son of Woodward’s Department Stores founder Charles Woodward, formalized his gift giving into a foundation that would outlive him and benefit the health of British Columbians for many generations.

About an HD Video Processor Tower

Cystoscopies are a medical procedure used to diagnose, monitor and treat conditions affecting the bladder and urinary tract. The procedures is performed by an urologist using a cystoscope, which uses telescopic and microscopic lenses to view the inner surfaces of the urinary tract and help diagnose and treat urinary tract and prostate disease. A new HD Video Processor Tower adds high definition capability to provide greater clarity in imaging and far greater patient comfort.
