MP’s Donate Oranges to Burnaby Hospital Frontline
Together, Members of Parliament, Peter Julian and Jagmeet Singh showed their appreciation for Burnaby Hospital staff by delivering 165 bags of oranges. Along with the oranges came messages of thanks from students throughout Burnaby, that will soon line the halls of the hospital.
“It is important we acknowledge the extraordinary work and courage that has been shown from healthcare workers, nurses, doctors, personal support workers, cleaning crews, maintenance workers and administrative staff. The frontline workers and their families at Burnaby General Hospital have made tremendous sacrifices to keep our health care system operational throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. They are frontline heroes who keep our community healthy and safe. Thank you,” Singh said in a media release.
“Every day, healthcare workers are on the front-line working incredibly hard to take care of us. They get up every morning—or every evening, to care for people with COVID-19 and the rest of our community. All frontline care providers are putting their lives at risk while taking care of us. It is vitally important to pay tribute to all health care workers, and we’ll fight to make sure they have what they need to stay safe,” Julian stated.
