Letter: Orthopedic Surgeon Thanks Donors for Newly Purchased X-Ray Machine
Dear Donors,
I recently had my first chance to use the beautiful new portable x-ray in the operating room, and what a difference compared to the old one! I had a complex case of a young 30-year old lady with a childhood hip problem, retained hardware inside the hip, and a difficult reconstruction. The ability to get real-time x-ray in the OR was a great asset, a significant time savings, and helped make the case smoother, faster, and safer.
Our old machine took an analogue x-ray, which then had to be removed from the operating room and developed, with a 7-10 minute delay to see the actual image. Our new digital x-ray shows the image immediately, allowing us to proceed with the surgery or make adjustments on the spot.
Thank you so much for helping us with the purchase of this key upgrade in equipment for the operating room!
Best regards,
