Exciting Improvements for Burnaby Hospital

Exciting Improvements for Burnaby Hospital

July 28, 2015

ANNOUNCEMENT 2015| Fraser Health and the Burnaby Hospital Foundation are committed to seeing Burnaby Hospital continue to play a vital role in the network of care that Fraser Health provides.

Since 2001, Burnaby Hospital has received investments of more than $31 million for major capital improvements.

Some investments have included the expansion of the Emergency Supertrack, enhancements to the endoscopy suite, and upgrades to medical device reprocessing.

Recently, an additional operating room at Burnaby Hospital was added, which brings the total number of ORs to seven.

These enhancements, along with an ongoing commitment to quality improvement, have resulted in significant care accomplishments at Burnaby Hospital.

Fraser health has now identified some further opportunities for the hospital to improve. These opportunities align with the priority of ensuring a focus on community health services.

Planning is now underway for a mental health zone in the Emergency Department and enhanced outpatient services to allow for better access to services for patients and better use of the space at the hospital.

This is an exciting time for Burnaby Hospital and the Burnaby Hospital Foundation to partner together to move this plan forward.
