In a game-changing gesture off the ice, the Canucks for Kids Fund has made an incredible $400,000 donation to Burnaby Hospital Foundation, marking another significant milestone in their ongoing commitment to community health. This generous contribution will support the Foundation’s Bright Future campaign, which funds the redevelopment of Burnaby Hospital, and the new Pediatric Rapid Access Clinic, enhancing services for young patients and their families in the Lower Mainland.
A long-time supporter of children’s health, the Canucks for Kids Fund has granted over $100 million to charities in British Columbia over the past 39 years. The Fund is now stepping up in a big way for Burnaby Hospital. This donation will strengthen our hospital’s ongoing redevelopment and enhance pediatric care helping us meet the health needs of approximately 500,000 people across Burnaby, East Vancouver, and surrounding communities.
“We are incredibly proud to support Burnaby Hospital Foundation’s vital efforts to improve the pediatric care provided in our community,” said Michael Doyle, President, Canucks Sports & Entertainment, Business Operations. “Our commitment to children’s health and wellness continues to be a cornerstone of our efforts, and we are honoured to help ensure that young patients and their families have access to the best possible care when they need it most.”

Their generosity will ensure that we can offer top-quality, family-centered care for years to come.”
The Pediatric Rapid Access Clinic, launched in January 2024, is transforming urgent pediatric care by offering services for children with acute medical conditions in a calm, child-friendly environment separate from the busy Emergency Department. Serving infants through 17-year-olds, the clinic provides urgent assessments, follow-up care, minor procedures, diagnostic tests, IV therapy, and wound care. Referrals are accepted from Fraser Health Emergency Departments or community physicians, ensuring a quick turnaround for assessments and timely care. By prioritizing both efficiency and comfort, the clinic delivers quality, compassionate care in a setting designed to reduce stress for young patients and their families.
The Canucks for Kids Fund’s $400,000 donation to Burnaby Hospital Foundation is a testament to their enduring legacy of philanthropy and their dedication to ensuring the youngest patients in our region receive the care they deserve.
