Shuai Gu

Shuai began her career in journalism in China before expanding her expertise in marketing upon immigrating to Canada. As a first-generation immigrant, she is deeply committed to building community connections and fostering meaningful relationships. Shuai entered the field of fundraising in 2019 at Richmond Hospital Foundation, where she quickly found a passion for engaging donors to drive healthcare innovation, support healthcare staff, and ultimately enhance patient care. Shuai proudly holds a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation and is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Vancouver Chapter.

Shuai values connecting with the professional community and giving back to those who have inspired and supported her professional growth. She co-led the 2024 annual Fundamentals of Fundraising course and will continue in this role for the 2025 course. In her spare time, Shuai enjoys spending quality time with her family and practicing her shuffle dance moves.
