In lieu of flowers or gifts, consider making a gift in memory, a loving and lasting commemoration for a loved one, friend or colleague. Your memorial donation will help support the work of the Burnaby Hospital Foundation and enhance health care in your community, while preserving the memory of the person and the impact they made on your life.
Your donation will be used to support the area of greatest need at Burnaby Hospital, however, should you wish to direct it to a specific program or unit, you may indicate that on your donation form.
A gift in memory is a thoughtful gesture to the family and a meaningful way to express your sympathy. Burnaby Hospital Foundation will acknowledge your memorial gift with a note to the family (without disclosing the amount). You will also receive an acknowledgement.
You can request brochures to share at a memorial service.

Dedicating a gift to the Burnaby Hospital Foundation is a great way to honour the people or events in your life that deserve it. Donating to your community in someone else’s name as a wedding gift, or in celebration of a recent accomplishment, is a heartfelt way to say congratulations.
If you’d like to take a more active route with your tribute, tie it in with a personal accomplishment, such as a charity walk or run. By going this extra mile for a good cause, your donation can inspire others to get out there and do the same in their community.
Request brochures, donation cards or other materials to share at a celebration event, or memorial service.
For more information about giving in memory/honour/tribute, please contact Michelle Barton, Director of Annual Giving, at 604.431.2823.
Cheers to You recognizes Burnaby Hospital staff members and physicians who have made a tremendous effort to support the Foundation in fundraising, volunteering or for providing exceptional service to patients.
As a grateful patient, you can show your gratitude to those who cared for you.
When a patient makes a donation through this program, the health care provider being honoured will be eligible to be recognized on the Cheers to You display wall and will receive a letter of recognition and a commemorative gift.
