Burnaby Hospital Foundation invites donors to support seniors during 65-hour online giving event
The senior population is rapidly increasing, yet, support for seniors is not.
From July 10 to 12, Burnaby Hospital Foundation is participating in Canada’s first-ever GIVE65, a 65-hour online giving event to help charitable organizations serving seniors raise funds online and increase awareness. Senior-focused organizations throughout Canada are participating in this online event. This year, we’re raising funds for to support programs, activities, and facility upgrades at Fellburn Care Centre that create comfort, and a home like space for residents and their families.
During the GIVE65 Event, we are also raising funds with the hopes of receiving up to $5,000 in matching funds from the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation of Canada. Donations of $10 or greater are accepted online at give65.ca/bhfoundation.
“GIVE65 allows us to support seniors while raising awareness of the critical need for the programs and services provided by Fellburn in our community,” says BHF CEO, Kristy James.
The 65-hour GIVE65 event begins at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10 and concludes at 10 p.m. on July 12. This event is an initiative of the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation of Canada and the first and only crowd-fundraising platform focused on helping charitable organizations across Canada raise funds for programs and services benefiting seniors.
“Every gift will help seniors at the local level in communities throughout Canada,” says Roger Baumgart, of Home Instead Senior Care Foundation of Canada. “We’re thrilled to partner with Burnaby Hospital Foundation for the first-ever GIVE65 event in Canada, and we are hopeful our partnership will ignite greater charitable giving in support of seniors who rely on the charitable sector.”
But you don’t have to wait until July 10 to make your donation. Beginning July 1, anyone who wants to support Burnaby Hospital Foundation, can visit give65.ca/bhfoundation to pre-schedule a secure, online donation.
