Every day, miracles happen at Burnaby Hospital - lives are saved, pain is relieved, broken bones are mended, and advancements in the ICU though state-of-the-art patient beds allow our high risk patients to heal in comfort and dignity while at the same time reducing health care complications. Burnaby Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit is an extremely specialized area where 11 ICU beds are dedicated to critically ill and high risk patients.  Currently, seven out of the 11 ICU beds need to be replaced. With new, advanced beds, Burnaby Hospital’s ICU team can help patients recapture early mobility – a process that reduces complications, decreases length of stay and improves patient satisfaction.
