When you can’t breathe, nothing else matters.  Every moment of the day our breath connects us with life, a fact that many of us take for granted.  However, for those patients with respiratory ailments, the ability to breathe without assistance is often not possible. As a result, Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) Machines are life-saving equipment for supporting patients with respiratory conditions at Burnaby Hospital. Burnaby Hospital has one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Fraser Health and a BiPAP Machine is usually the first point of contact for patients in severe respiratory distress. BiPAP Machines also help patients in a variety of areas, including our Critical Care Unit, Post Anesthetic Recovery room, and Cardiac ward.
