At Burnaby Hospital’s Laboratory, blood gas analyzers are critical for patient care. This new technology will enable the Laboratory to perform ionized calcium on neonates, which we currently cannot provide with existing instrumentation. It also has the option to do blood chloride, glucose, and lactate when needs arise. As Burnaby Hospital offers a full range of diagnostic services for patient testing and screening of illness and injury, this new state-of-the-art technology will help Burnaby Hospital provide better care for patients throughout the hospital.
