Bronchoscopy is a technique of visualizing the inside of the airways for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. At Burnaby Hospital, a bronchscope is a critical piece of equipment that helps health care professionals to examine a patient's airways for abnormalities such as foreign bodies, bleeding, tumors, or inflammation. We estimate that over 225 patients will benefit from this equipment every year.
