Burnaby Hospital’s Laboratory offers state-of-the-art technology in the areas of chemistry, transfusion medicine, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, sophisticated drug monitoring, microbiology and pathology. By acquiring a Coagulation Analyzer, Burnaby Hospital can now perform more advanced procedures used in the diagnosis of bleeding and/or clotting disorders. Coagulation Analyzers are also used to monitor treatment for patients who are on anticoagulant therapy, such as heparin or coumadin, for post-op and various cardiac indications. With this new technology, reporting results is quicker, more efficient, and safer for laboratory staff to use.
