Once again, Boffo Developments joined Burnaby Hospital Foundation as a Silver Sponsor of The Slice 2010 golf tournament and evening with friends. Their $5,000 contribution continues to bring Burnaby Hospital Foundation closer to this year's goal of $3 million towards critical equipment at Burnaby Hospital.

Burnaby Hospital Foundation was on-hand to celebrate the first year anniversary of CIBC's Burnaby branch on Kingsway and Acorn Avenue, where CIBC presented Burnaby Hospital Foundation with a $5,000 cheque as part of their $20,000 pledge supporting the recent purchase of a new MRI for Burnaby Hospital.

BURNABY – Sunday, June 6th marked the largest success to date for Burnaby Hospital Foundation’s Rhythm of Life: The Run and Walk for Everyone, with over 425 participants raising $40,000 to support Burnaby Hospital.

“Events like Rhythm of Life are truly about community and the important role it plays in building a healthy future for our community, “said Marcia Harrison, Acting President with Burnaby Hospital Foundation. “The $40,000 will support this year’s goal of raising $3 million to purchase urgently-needed equipment at Burnaby Hospital. What is Rhythm of Life?

Rhythm of Life is Burnaby Hospital Foundation’s annual community run and walk, raising much needed funds and support for Burnaby Hospital’s most urgent equipment needs. The event celebrates its 12th anniversary with Presenting Sponsor Taiga Building Products, and introduces a new outdoor stage with live talent and fun activities for the entire family. Whether you’re young or golden, the event has something for everyone!

Highlights include:

  • 10 km fun run, 5 km run or walk  or1 km family stroll
  • Smokin’ barbeque lunch
  • Live stage: Shimmy for the Soul, Dance Express, and Moetones Barbershop Quartet

South Burnaby Legion No. 83 Donates $5,000 to Purchase Hospital Beds

Burnaby Hospital Foundation's Director of Annual Giving Maura Fitzpatrick (centre left) received a $5,000 donation from Tom Waddell, Dianne Pastro, and Lou Pastro on behalf of the South Burnaby Legion No. 83. This generous donation was raised through the legion's annual poppy fundraiser, and will help purchase critically-needed beds at Burnaby Hospital.

South Burnaby Legion No. 83 is a branch of The Royal Canadian Legion, an organization created in 1926 to support veterans and promote the remembrance of those who gave their lives in the wars and military missions around the world. Each year, the Legion supports numerous charities through its fundraising activities like the Annual Poppy Campaign, and they have been long-time supporters of Burnaby Hospital Foundation.
