Sunday, September 11th marked a big success for Burnaby Hospital Foundation’s Rhythm of Life: The Run and Walk for Everyone, with over 400 participants raising $71,500 to help purchase urgently-needed equipment at Burnaby Hospital.
“Rhythm of Life is truly a unique event because it creates awareness about the need to build a healthy future for our community,” said Cheryl Bosley, President with Burnaby Hospital Foundation. “The $71,500 raised will support the Healthy Heart Program at Burnaby Hospital and help purchase a $30,000 defibrillator for the hospital’s busy Emergency Department.”

Burnaby Hospital Foundation celebrated an astounding success at its 25th anniversary golf tournament, The Slice, on Friday, June 17, 2011, raising $150,000 to help purchase urgently-needed equipment at Burnaby Hospital.
“This success represents what can happen when the community comes together for a cause that is close to their hearts,” said Cheryl Bosley, President with Burnaby Hospital Foundation. “The funds raised will be put to work purchasing critical equipment that supports Burnaby Hospital’s Ambulatory Care Services. This generous donation was raised through the legion's annual poppy fundraiser, and will help purchase critically-needed beds at Burnaby Hospital.
South Burnaby Legion No. 83 is a branch of The Royal Canadian Legion, an organization created in 1926 to support veterans and promote the remembrance of those who gave their lives in the wars and military missions around the world. Each year, the Legion supports numerous charities through its fundraising activities like the Annual Poppy Campaign, and they have been long-time supporters of Burnaby Hospital Foundation.
