Burnaby Hospital Foundation's Director of Annual Giving Maura Fitzpatrick (centre left) received a $5,000 donation from Tom Waddell, Dianne Pastro, and Lou Pastro on behalf of the South Burnaby Legion No. 83. This generous donation was raised through the legion's annual poppy fundraiser, and will help purchase critically-needed beds at Burnaby Hospital.

South Burnaby Legion No. 83 is a branch of The Royal Canadian Legion, an organization created in 1926 to support veterans and promote the remembrance of those who gave their lives in the wars and military missions around the world. Each year, the Legion supports numerous charities through its fundraising activities like the Annual Poppy Campaign, and they have been long-time supporters of Burnaby Hospital Foundation.
