Ride the Train and Support Burnaby Hospital!
November 20, 2010
11 am to 7 pm
Metropolis at Metrotown (located by Toys “R” Us)
Face painting, prizes and more!
All Aboard!
Come out and ride the train and you can help raise $10,000 to purchase critical hospital equipment!
These are exciting times as we gear up for the big day. Burnaby Hospital Foundation was chosen as one of four charities to participate in Train Your Charity: The Metropolis Express Fall 2010 Challenge for the opportunity to reach out to the community, spread awareness about our local hospital, and raise funds to purchase urgently-needed medical equipment at Burnaby Hospital.
Just by riding the train, you can support a great cause!
Jumping aboard the Metropolis Express is by donation, and all proceeds for the month of November will benefit Burnaby Hospital. BUT…and here’s the kicker…all donations raised on November 20, 2010 (our special Train Day) will boost our chances of winning the Grand Prize of $10,000 to the charity that raises the most on their train day.
This year’s goal is $3 million and a gift of $10,000 will truly go a long way to help thousands of people (We saw over 200,000 patients last year)!
To give you an idea of what hospital equipment costs these days, take a look at a portable ultrasound for the Intensive Care Unit (which costs $70,000) or a neonatal resuscitation unit for our tiniest patients who have challenges breathing. The cost? $30,000. The ‘wish list‘ is big, but we’re up for the challenge.
Now all we need is YOU to catch a ride on the Metropolis Express and show your support for Burnaby Hospital!
