Cheryl Bosley
President
Cheryl Bosley began fundraising 12 years ago as the Chair of CIBC’s BC and Yukon Region United Way Campaign. Since taking on this position, she then proceeded to raise millions in both capital and operating dollars in the health and education sectors.
From 1999 to 2006, Cheryl participated in the growth of UBC’s development program from $40 million to more than $100 million annually, raising more than $7 million working with the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Forestry and the Sauder School of Business. Cheryl’s most recent position at UBC was the Major Gifts Officer for the Sauder School of Business, specializing in major gifts in preparation for their capital campaign.
Prior to a career in development, Cheryl spent 14 years with CIBC, holding various leadership positions. She holds a Professional Financial Planning designation and was one of BCIT’s first graduates from their innovative Fundraising Management Degree Program.
Gabrielle Acuna
Development Coordinator, Gift Processing & Donor Relations
Gabrielle has volunteered with the Burnaby Hospital Foundation since 2009, helping in the office and at numerous Foundation events. From her time as a volunteer, she has learned the important role Burnaby Hospital plays in the health of the community and is eager to ensure that the hospital can continue to offer its services for many years to come. Now, as the Foundation’s Development Coordinator, Gift Processing and Donor Relations, Gabrielle will be an integral member of the administration team and will be responsible for the processing of gifts and providing exceptional donor support to the Foundation.
Gabrielle is a recent graduate of Simon Fraser University, where she studied Psychology and Gerontology. She enjoys arts and crafts and is an avid reader of comic books.

Aaron Broomfield
Development Administrator
As a child, Aaron fondly remembers receiving excellent care when he needed eye surgery. Now a father himself, he works at the Foundation so that Burnaby Hospital will have the best tools available to helps the patients and community it serves.
After studying Information Technology in the United Kingdom, he returned to Metro Vancouver and began volunteering with non-profit organizations while embarking his studies in fundraising and marketing at BCIT. Since his completion of the fundraising program, he worked with Richmond Youth Service Agency as their Fundraising Manager, and has provided development and administrative support to the Foundation since 2006.

Maura Fitzpatrick
Director, Annual Giving
Over the years, Maura has had the privilege and great honour to meet many former grateful patients and their families. She feels blessed to have the opportunity to share their stories with others in the community so they can clearly understand how their giving helps people and saves lives.
Maura has worked in the development field for more than 20 years. In 1999, she joined Burnaby Hospital Foundation as Manager of Fund Raising and was responsible for the Foundation’s direct mail programs, major gifts, and corporate and community fund raising programs. Working now as Director Annual Giving, Maura is responsible for all of the Foundation’s annual giving programs.
Maura lives with her husband and three young children in Port Coquitlam.

Stephanie Leung
Communications Specialist
Having grown up in East Vancouver, Stephanie is proud to be returning to her childhood hospital and giving back to a cause so dear to her heart. There are many inspirational stories of how Burnaby Hospital has touched the lives of its health care professionals and patients, and it's Stephanie's vision to be able to share those stories with the community.
Stephanie joined Burnaby Hospital Foundation with a diverse palette in communications and a flair for everything creative. She was most recently a Communications Coordinator with the BC Innovation Council, where she focused on media relations, managing events, developing communication tools, and exploring new opportunities to expand community profile. As a professional communicator, Stephanie's portfolio includes a roster of organizations such as the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and Simon Fraser University.
Stephanie is an avid foodie and technology enthusiast.

Barbara Martineau
Development Officer, Major Gifts & Planned Giving
Barb has extensive experience in the not-for-profit performing arts sector, working in development and communication roles for organizations like the Vancouver Recital Society and the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre Company. Most recently, she held the position of Fund Development Manager for Kids Up Front Foundation in Vancouver. Barb holds a Masters in Music from King’s College London, England.
Barb leads a busy lifestyle with her family in North Vancouver. She loves to run, read, and cook.

Kyle Tiney
Manager, Strategic Initiatives & Events
Kyle was inspired to join the Burnaby Hospital Foundation to help make Burnaby Hospital the best it can be as he was born at the hospital.
Kyle was most recently on the Community Giving Team at the Canadian Cancer Society for the last 5 years, focusing on revitalizing campaigns to make a bigger difference in the community. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Geography from Simon Fraser University and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Kyle has also served on the Board of Governors for Scouts Canada as well as the Board of Directors for Scouts Canada Foundation. He has a true passion for the outdoors and for making a positive change in the world.

Jennifer Wong *On Maternity Leave*
Development Officer, Major Gifts & Planned Giving
Raised in Burnaby, Jennifer appreciates all that is offered by this community including the Burnaby Hospital and its’ services.
Jennifer has worked in community development, marketing and fundraising for numerous organizations in the non-profit sector including the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C. & Yukon, Science World British Columbia and the Department of Athletics at University of British Columbia. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from another Burnaby institution, Simon Fraser University.
Jennifer is passionate about active living and experiencing the natural beauty B.C. has to offer.
Sylvia Zylla
Director, Major Gifts & Planned Giving
Sylvia was most recently the Manager of Major Gifts at the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) in Vancouver. Having worked with several charities in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Sylvia has many years of experience in non-profit management. She holds a Bachelor degree in Science and Business Management and also is a member of the Canadian Institute of Marketing and Association of Fundraising Professionals. She has been an active community leader within the province volunteering with several charitable organizations in the area of social welfare.
Sylvia enjoys an active lifestyle with family including sailing and golf and is an avid supporter of the arts.
