Chair and President's Message

Burnaby Hospital Foundation, like everyone else, found 2008 to be a year of rapid and unexpected changes. Reflecting on the past year, the Foundation is responding to developments in our local economy by closely monitoring the economic crisis and educating ourselves on the rapidly changing health care needs of our community.

Thanks to an active Foundation Board, and generous donors like the Keith and Betty Beedie Foundation and Bosa Properties, Burnaby Hospital Foundation raised over $ 3 million dollars last year to bring new services, improve the quality of healthcare for our residents and visitors, and provide state-of-the-art diagnostic technology to Burnaby Hospital. We couldn’t have done this without your generous support of our community and its desire to make Burnaby Hospital the best it can be.

Going forward into this new year, Burnaby Hospital Foundation will continue its conversations with our donors and hospital family to ensure our community benefits from a leading edge health care facility, now and in the future. We are hopeful that in 2009, we will continue to see the generosity that our community is known for in sustaining the spirit of giving and investing in the health and well-being of our residents in Burnaby and beyond.
